Is the school part of a trust?
Yes, the new school will be run by the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) – a multi-academy trust with a strong track record of school delivery and improvement in the Weston area. It already runs secondary academies Hans Price, Broadoak and the newly-built Winterstoke Hundred, as well as primaries Uphill Village, Haywood Village and Herons’ Moor.
All six of those schools are currently rated ‘outstanding’ or ‘good’ by Ofsted.
CLF Values
As a school is setting up, how can we be sure that students will get the same quality of education?
The quality of educational provision is closely monitored and subject to checks and quality assurance processes, from within the academy and the wider federation, as well as from other external bodies.
What will the SEN provision be like?
Airfield Primary Academy will be an inclusive, mainstream school providing an education with high aspirations for all learners. The school will recognise that every child is unique, and their personalities and skills reflect this. The school will believe in every child who will attend our school and are resolute in our ambitions for their achievement.
What will the start and finish times be?
Times of the day have not yet been finalised, but the likelihood will be that school will start sometime between 8.30am and 8.50am, ending between 3pm and 3.30pm.
Can I visit the new school to have a look around?
Yes – but not yet. Once the development is complete, we’ll be holding open days for members of the community. We’ll share details of this in due course.
When will staff be recruited for the new school?
The expectation is that a Principal will be appointed at the beginning of 2026. Further roles – both teaching and non-teaching positions – will be filled in throughout 2026, ready for a September opening.
Vacancies will be advertised by the CLF. Anyone interested in applying for a position should visit the CLF careers site.
